THE JUDGING PROCESS
-
This was anonymous from the start to the end.
-
The administration was carried out anonymously for us
-
The list of names was hidden from the readers and the judge until the end of the process.
-
A long list of 13 was drawn from a first reading, and a short-list of 8 was arrived at by consensus.
-
The 8 stories were then sent to our official judge, Rhian Edwards.
-
Rhian’s verdict came within a few days.
-
On providing us with her judgment, Rhian Edwards commented:
“I thoroughly enjoyed reading the final shortlisted short stories. It was truly a difficult one to call, especially third place. After re-reading them, I arrived at my decision in terms of originality, believability and the degree to which the characters were compelling and sympathetic.”

Rhian Edwards is a Bridgend based author and poet and is winner of several awards. Please read more about Rhian on her web page: Rhian Edwards
